The company Amazon.com just said on Tuesday that it has improved the performance of the battery on its kindle e-book reader, extending the baterry life by 85%. Amazon claims the device will go up to a week on a single charge with the wireless service turned on. also, the company said it has added a native PDF reader to the device to allow users to load their own documents. The kindle owners are going to be available to use those kindles with the improvements through a firmware update.
